This year's edition of the Kingston Primary Schools Athletics Championships was the biggest yet with 15 schools and approximately 500 children taking part throughout the day. Kingsmeadow Stadium played host on Thursday 23rd June and saw the sun shine on a wonderful days athletics. Click for results.

Budding young cricketers converged on Chessington Cricket Club last Tuesday (7th June) for the annual Kingston Primary Schools Kwik-Cricket Playoffs. This event continues to grow and as well the 'Best Team' finals taking place, this year for the first time ever, there was also a 'Girls Only' competition. Click for full report. |

KSSP - Primary Rounders Competition 2011 |

This year we had a record turnout for the Primary rounders competition - 13 schools entered. The event consisted of the players competing in a pool round, which led onto a group round to decide which place in the competition they came. For full results click here.
KSSP - Primary Tag Rugby Finals 2011 |

Southborough High School hosted this year's Kingston borough TAG rugby league finals with expert support from Harlequins Rugby League Community club coach Adam Kyle and his team. A record number of fifteen schools qualified this year and despite the bright and blustery conditions, the standard and quality of play was outstanding; reflecting the recent growth of the sport within the borough. National U14 Football Champions! |

Well done to Richard Challoner School who won the National U14 football cup. The team played against Wright Robinson College from Mancester in Manchester City FC's Stadium. After a very close game which went into extra time Richard Challoner nudged ahead to take the title (4-3). The team, during half term have been invited to represent England in matches against Scotland, Ireland and Wales. |

Chessington Community College was privileged to play host to a private viewing of the Men's and Women's Champions League Football Trophies, as they made their way to their respective finals matches. Thanks must go to Fulham Football Club for organising this exciting opportunity.
'Key Steps' Gymnastics Competition 2010/11 |

Five teams from three schools in Kingston took part in this year's Key Steps Gymnastics competition at Coombe Girls School in New Malden. There was a great atmosphere as the teams arrived with their coaches, they were greeted and shown to their areas by our 16 Sports Leaders from Coombe Girls. A whole group warm up was strongly led by Zara Robinson and Pippa James (year 9 students) before the teams competed in each event; Body Management, Floor Exercise and Vault. Click for full report.

KS4/5 Netball Competitions 2010/11 |

On Wednesday 26th January 2011, our Borough Secondary schools took part in the Annual KS 4 & 5 Netball Tournament at Tiffin Girls school. With entries from 8 schools in nearly all 3 age groups, the tournament provided a participation platform for nearly 200 girls - with a mixture of results! All age groups took part in round robin tournaments, playing a minimum of 5 games, and despite the cold weather and drizzly rain. Click for full results. |

Surrey Schools Cross Country Competition 2010/11 |
The smallest canton of Surrey pitted itself against the ten other areas in the County at the muddy Reigate Priory Cross country course to good effect. The strength of the team lay in the numbers not just of athletes competing but the diversity of the schools they came from. Not only did nearly every school in the Borough made significant contributions to the vitality of the team there was also testament to the organisation by the school sports partnerships, the teachers, the local athletics clubs and the parents who supported the Borough so readily. 8 teams from 6 of the Borough's Secondary Schools took part in this highly competitive 5-a-side football tournament. In the initial stages the teams were split into 2 groups where they played each other. Tolworth 'A' impressed with an opening 5-0 victory, Surbiton High and Coombe 'A' could only be separated by greater number of goals scored however, Hollyfield in one group and Holy Cross in the other went through to the semi-finals undefeated and with maximum points. On Tuesday 16th November the Partnership came together at both Primary and Secondary levels to compete in their respective competitions. The weather was fresh and foggy and well over 500 competitors attended to challenge for the Primary and Secondary titles. Please click for the primary school competition report.
Leadership Academy 2010/11 |

During the October half term the Kingston Leadership Academy invited 70 young leaders from across the Borough to develop their leadership skills. They were supported in doing this by local providers who gave them a hands on approach to leadership. The students were guided through young officials courses in Football, Volleyball, High Five Netball and Rugby. The two day programme was a complete success and we look forward to seeing the volunteers putting what they have learned into action across the Borough in the forthcoming months.

For the first time ever all 6 Kingston girls' secondary schools came together for the Year 7 Tag Tournament. The event was held in conjunction with the grand opening of Kingston University's new sports grounds at Tolworth Court, and the great facilities gave the girls the opportunity to show their agile footwork and swift handling skills. Thank you to those PLT's and SSCo's who attended Partnership day. The day enabled our clusters to get together and plan for the forthcoming year. There were opportunities for a review of our competion pathways and PESSYP Data, followed by CPD in effective data collection. Then the clusters got on their dancing shoes to experience the 'Cha Cha Cha' .
