Sportshall Athletics Primary Finals 2009/10 |
After competitive cluster competitions six cluster champions emerged. These schools came together on the 15th December to contest the Kingston title 2009/10.
The Finals were held at Richard Challoner School and they proved to be a highly contested event.
Schools represented were Our Lady Immaculate, St Paul's (Chessington and Hook), King Athelstan, St Paul's Juniors, Coombe Hill Juniors and last years champions, hoping to retain their title, Malden Parochial.
Each school brought up to sixteen pupils who competed in a variety of track and field events ranging from speed bounce and vertical jump to lap relays and 'Paarlauf' events.
Throughout the competition the lead changed hands five times! And this reflected the effort and competitive approach taken by the pupils from all schools. The team support was fantastic!
The final results were as follows:
| Position | Points | School |
| 1st Place | 552 | St Paul's (Chessington and Hook) |
| Joint Second Place | 524 | St Pauls Juniors/Coombe Hill Juniors |
| 4th Place | 498 | Malden Parochial |
| 5th Place | 458 | King Athelstan |
| 6th Place | 456 | Our Lady Immaculate |

St Paul's (Chessington and Hook) will go on to represent Kingston in the next round of the National competition. We wish them every success.
Finally a massive thank you must go to the sixteen sports leaders from Holy Cross and Richard Challoner who have volunteered 10 hours of their time to support the Kingston Sportshall Athletics Programme. Without their support the event would not be the success it is today.
