About the Kingston School Sport Partnership |
We at the Kingston School Sports Partnership are striving to improve sporting access and opportunities for all school aged children in the borough. We are working to gain 2 hours of high quality curriculum physical education for each child. Also we are liasing with school and club colleagues to develop excellent school club networks, so all children have the opportunity to access hours 3 to 5, of the Governmental 5 hour target.
Figures show children in Kingston are receiving more high quality physical education and sport than ever before. Numbers of pupils taking part in competition are on the rise and the increase in young people taking part in volunteering and leadership opportunities is one of our greatest successes.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of our School Sports Coordinators, Primary Link Teachers, school staff and network of coaches, 48% of pupils in Kingston now participate in at least 3 hours of high quality Physical Education and School Sport per week.

On Thursday 24th June 2010, St. Agatha's Primary school were thrilled to welcome Premier League footballer, Republic of Ireland International and ex-pupil, Steven Reid to the school. Steven came to visit us to talk to the children about his career and his route into football at the highest level. Steven amused us with his memories from the school and told us about all the hard work that he had to do, to achieve (and score!) his goals in life. We dazzled him with our footballing skills and discussed how he felt when he played in the World Cup in 2002. Steven stayed for the morning and was happy to take photos and give autographs. |
